N.B. Defra have announced that there will be an easing of the current procedures and documentary requirements under the Pet Travel Scheme from January 2012. It is recommended to consult their web site or telephone them, if you haven't ever yet taken your pet abroad. Certain procedures are going to be abolished and there will be a change to those before the pet returns to the UK, making it all very straight forward indeed.
